The Fiat ElleZero becomes the Fiat 500L for production
Fiat has confirmed that the Elle-Zero will debut at the Geneva Motor Show as the Fiat 500L Compact MPV. Earlier this month we reported that Fiat were heading to the Geneva Motor Show in March with a new compact MPV – the Fiat Elle-Zero, which they are. But instead of using the code name for the new mini MPV as the production moniker, they’ve decided the new car will join the 500 family as the Fiat 500L.

The 2012 Porsche 911 will officially arrive in a couple of weeks time at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and Porsche are taking every opportunity to shove the latest 911 under our noses. And who can blame them? We had the official reveal of the new 911 just over a week ago, with plenty of detail and a decent amount of photos – enough to satiate the appetites of all but the 911 nutters until Frankfurt arrives.
The Mercedes Twingo? Almost, but not quite
In yet another – highly expected – sign that the future for car makers is more and more co-operation, Renault-Nissan and Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) have today announced a wide-ranging alliance which will see much of the output of each company utilised by the other. Top of the list for starters is the joint development of the platform for the next SmartForTwo which will be shared by the next generation Twingo.
